easyHotel, the budget hospitality chain owned by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou will be opening its new Glasgow hotel on Thursday 16 January - two weeks ahead of schedule. The revised opening date has been made possible by earlier than expected completion of formalities including appointment of contractors and recruitment of staff.
Bookings can now be made for Thursday onwards at www.easyhotel.com. Room rates will start from £15 per night Sunday – Friday and £19 per night on Saturdays. Pricing will follow the usual “easy” format with early bookings attracting lower prices. In addition there will be special promotions offering the first five cheapest rooms at just £9 per room per night for every night during January, February and March 2014.
The 10 sq m rooms offer safe comfortable twin/double beds complete with en-suite shower/WC. Special disabled facilities will also be available. Although there is no catering on site, easyHotel Glasgow is perfectly situated for local cafes, bars and restaurants.
The 125-room hotel on Hill St, previously owned by an easyHotel franchisee, doubles easyHotel’s exposure to the booming Scottish market with next year’s Ryder Cup golf tournament and Commonwealth Games expected to attract thousands of additional visitors.
Simon Champion, easyHotel chief executive said: “I am delighted that we have been able to recruit local staff so that we are ready to open our doors this Thursday, two weeks ahead of schedule. We look forward to bringing value to tourists and business customers alike - giving them added spending power for the rest of their Glasgow visit”.
Notes for Editors:
easyHotel has one directly owned hotel on London’s Old St with another outlet due to open in Croydon in the spring. In addition there are 19 franchised properties stretching from Edinburgh to Dubai.
