What to know before you jet off
Can you shop between terminals?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to shop in another terminal without a valid boarding pass.
What are the airport’s shop opening hours?
Most shops are open during flight operation hours (mainly from 06:00 to 23:00).
What are the duty free/tax free allowances?
You may bring back items from your trips without paying any customs duties as long as they are for personal use or consumption or intended as gifts. However, it is worth noting that
authorized quantities depend on the country of destination – so make sure to check this before purchasing.
For UK residents, you are now able to get tax-free access in Paris and across Europe, meaning you can save money on the VAT of your purchases. Most goods such as cosmetics, fashion, jewellery, technology, and food and drink will qualify for this.
Can duty free items be carried as hand luggage?
In addition to your baggage allowance, most airlines will allow you to transport one bag of duty-free goods per person in the cabin. Liquids and tobacco products must be transported in a sealed plastic bag.
Where to shop: Fashion and accessories
In true Parisian fashion, big names luxury brands can be spotted in all of Charles de Gaulle’s terminals. For a gift that doesn’t cost a month’s salary, unfortunately you won’t be able to find a Zara or H&M here, which is why if you’re in the market for something with a little less zeros, we suggest scrolling on down to the next section. But for those of you looking to compensate for your last minute gifting – we’ve got plenty of options for you.
At terminal 1 you can explore Gucci and Bottega Veneta, all of which will keep you busy, but it is really Terminal 2E where the crème de la crème of designer boutiques can be found, with big name brands such as Chanel, Dior and Hermes all having set up shop. Swarovski can be found inside terminals 2E and 2F, Tiffany’s famous blue boxes can also be spotted in 2E and world-famous watchmakers Cartier have branches in terminals 2E and 2F. Whereas if you’re in the market for a new travel bag or tote you can also find stores such as Longchamp, Salvatore Ferragamo and Tumi in Terminal 2C.
Where to shop: Fragrances and beauty
For those on the hunt for some smelly stuff (not cheese) CDG’s duty-free shops are just as good as any French pharmacy. Located in each terminal, they have a wide selection of perfumes, cosmetics, and skincare items, both international and local. However, if you’re after a bargain, we recommend browsing local cult skincare brands such as Nuxe, La Roche Posay, Caudalie and Embryolisse – just to name just a few. Whether you're treating yourself or finding a gift, these shops have you covered with Parisian chic options that won't break the bank.
Where to shop: Gifting & Souvenirs
For an upgrade to the usual fridge magnet or slogan T-shirt, Paris’ duty free shops have something for every giftee. From perfectly packaged nibbles, wines and spirits, you’ll also find a selection of soft toys and Parisian-inspired scarves, jewellery and trinkets for every one on your Nice list. If you have a little extra time (and budget) make sure to browse Galeries Lafayette-Royal Quartz Paris, which has a selection of luxury timepieces and fine jewellery from prestigious brands.

For the organised among us, you can also pre-place your order and have it ready to collect an hour later from its pick-up counter. For a bottle of some very fancy bubbly, one of our favourite shops in this Paris airport is Veuve Clicquot, where you can pick up a bottle of champagne and even a order a glass for yourself for a taste of French Art de Vivre before flying.
