By the time August rolls around, London summer and all its revelry has hit full throttle. As we’ve talked about in a previous post, London is jam-packed with festival after festival spanning all sizes, styles and vibes throughout June and July. Never fear, however, as the fun continues into August, with the city seeing some of the best festivals of the year take place. From the new and fresh Sunfall Festival through to the iconic Notting Hill Carnival, there is something for all.

Eastern Electrics

When: 5th August

Where: Morden Park

About: Experience a day of some of the best house & techno music around, right in the heart of London.

This incredible dance festival is making the move form tranquil, rural Hertfordshire into the hustle and bustle of the big city.

The city movie doesn’t mean a downsize, however, with party goers still having access to ten stages and a huge line-up boasting some famous names.

The festival will also include a cabaret, fairground and loads of after parties. Stay at easyHotel London Old Street and take the Northern line all the way down to Morden. Simple as.


51st State Festival

When: 5th August

Where: Trent Park, Cockfosters Road

About: Back for its third year, 51st State Festival will be taking place at Trent Park, a country house estate found in Cockfosters.

This one-day dance festival is organised by the Found crew, and focuses on US House, Garage, Soul, Disco and Caribbean music. Back for its third year, check it out if you’re into dancing dirty in classy locations.

Out in the ‘countryside’, this spot is still relatively easy to get to from London. Make life easy for yourself and stay at easyHotel London Earl’s Court or South Kensington, and ride the Piccadilly line all the way to Cockfosters.  


Sunfall Festival

When: 12th August

Where: Brockwell Park

About: This one-day festival comes from the teams behind London top spots Phonox, The Nest and XOYO, plus Croatian festival organisers Dimensions and Outlook, so you know its going to be a goodie.

Only its its second year, you can expect to hear all sorts of styles and genres, spanning jazz, electronica, house, hip hop, dubstep, techno, soul, drum & bass and disco, in one of south London’s best parks.

Tickets also include access to EIGHT different eclectic after parties across the capital, where the music will continue late into the night.

Notting Hill Carnival

When: 26th – 28th August

Where: Notting Hill

About: The festival with such a big reputation that a description doesn't really seem necessary. Three days of one of the best parties you’ll ever go to. Amazing music, amazing vibe, and amazing food all celebrating rich Caribbean culture, tradition and history. 

Catch the Children’s Parade on Sunday for a more family-friendly, chilled affair, or head to the main event on Monday to watch over 60 bands perform, with over 38 static sound systems set out along the route, each with unique and diverse genres playing.

South West Festival

When: 26th & 27th August

Where: Clapham Common

About: South West Four is happening in Clapham Common over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Two days of dance music will see performances from Pendulum, Eric Prydz, Sigma, MK, Deadmau5, Marco Carola, Dusky, Gareth Emery and Nicky Romero.

A must-attend for over thirteen years for those into big-room house, EDM, electro, techno and trance, as well as party-goers of all sorts looking to make the most of a Monday free of work; wile the music finishes around 11pm, the party carries on all night long.

Take the Northern line directly from easyHotel London Old Street to Clapham in around 25 minutes.
