Edinburgh is a city bursting with culture, with a rich and varied history spanning the centuries. Even the hotel building itself dates back to the end of the eighteenth century. With the castle dominating the skyline and ready access to the city’s wealth of shopping, dining and tourist attractions, this is the ideal place to stay to discover Scotland’s capital city.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned, have wireless internet access (fees applicable) and en-suite bathrooms.
You’ll find everything from Michelin-starred restaurants to a light bite within walking distance of the hotel. Mussel Inn, in the heart of the city, is a favourite among guests who love fresh seafood, or why not try the rooftop dining at Chaophraya Thai restaurant? Alternatively, drop into The Elephant House cafe, where J. K. Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter drafts.
There’s no shortage of things to do in Edinburgh. You will have heard of the Fringe Festival, with its huge number of performances and other attractions – one of several festivals to be held in the city yearly. All year round, the Edinburgh Dungeons provide a fun and occasionally scary experience, or why not soak up the historical and literary atmosphere: authors including Ian Ranking, J. K. Rowling, Robert Burns and Robert Louis Stevenson have all lived in the city.
