Budapest boasts a great range of options for dining out and eating in. To get a taste of the local Hungarian cuisine, there’s no better place to try than Cafe Kor. Hop on the local M1 metro line or take a 20-minute walk from your easyHotel for authentic favourites such as veal fillet and fisherman’s soup.
A couple of bus rides away, save your appetite for the diverse delights of Central Market Hall. From food stalls selling fresh fruit and veg to canteen-style restaurants offering up all sorts of worldly dishes, pull up a chair and enjoy the range of flavours. Fancy a little live gipsy music with your traditional Hungarian meal? Head to Fakanal Etterem, an eclectic restaurant at the end of the food hall. As the biggest indoor market in all of Budapest, this is the number one culinary hotspot for city visitors.
Just a ten-minute tram ride from your hotel sits the vibrant Jewish quarter. Here, you can enjoy a fusion of Jewish Hungarian dishes, from grilled goats cheese and goulash soup at Borbíróság to the fresh seafood dishes at Vakvarjú Étterem.
Most of the city centre is suited for strolling around, but you’ll find transport options sitting on your hotel doorstep ready to take you from A to B. Soak up the sounds of the nearby Hungarian State Opera House, before taking in sweeping views at the top of Fisherman’s Bastion and stopping to witness the changing of the guards at the Hungarian Parliament Building, only a 20-minute walk away.
Fancy seeing how Buda and Pest are connected? One thing you must do outside of your easyHotel walls is to take a walk across the chain bridge. Head to the bustling Oktogon junction and enjoy a quick ride on the M1 metro to gaze at this pedestrian-friendly work of art before checking out the challenging twists and turns of Budapest’s best live escape room game, Claustrophilia.
If you have a little more time to explore the area, Jump on the 105 from Vörösmarty utca M and ride the bus all the way to Buda Castle, an official world heritage site. Sitting beautifully at the top of Castle Hill, you’ll quickly see why. Once you’ve spent time touring the streets, hop on board the metro one last time and dip a toe into Europe’s largest thermal bath, Széchenyi, for ultra relaxation.
